‍The season of growth is here, and we are preparing for one of the most important moments of the year for Teach My People—Palmetto Giving Day 2026, a 36-hour fundraising event taking place May 5–6.

‍ ‍Over the past 10 years, this special day has helped us do far more than simply maintain our programs. Because of your generosity, we have been able to nurture young lives, strengthen our mission, and grow something truly lasting for the children in our community. Together, we are planting future hope.

‍Growing Strong Roots

As our mission continues to grow, so does the number of students who need the support and opportunity our program provides. This year marks an exciting milestone in that growth. Beginning June 1, we will welcome 255 students into our program.

‍Looking ahead, we are preparing to expand even further. Over the next four years, we plan to add 30 new students each year, followed by 20 new students annually as we continue developing our Andrews program. Just like a young tree stretching its branches, our program is expanding to reach more children who need support, guidance, and opportunity.

‍ ‍Nurturing the Next Generation

‍ Strong growth requires strong support. Today, it costs $6,500 per student each year to provide our comprehensive academic after-school program and six-week summer program.

‍ ‍Your generosity helps provide every child with the following resources so they thrive and need to build strong foundations:

‍ ‍A safe and supportive place to learn, grow, and belong ● Daily hot, nutritious meals during the school year ● Breakfast and lunch during our summer session ●The tools needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond, including the spiritual compass they need to navigate life's inevitable challenges.

‍Real change isn’t grown overnight; it is nurtured over time. For 27 years, Teach My People has been rooted in this community, providing a foundation for our mission. But to ensure a sustainable future for the next generation, we must strengthen our base as we continue to grow.. Your support isn't just a gift—it’s the nutrients our mission needs to keep growing.

‍ ‍TMP's goal is to raise $250,000 to support 264 students in Pawleys Island, Georgetown, and Andrews! Currently we have over $50,000 (and growing) in matching funds. We’d love for you to support us and help us secure the match through your donation.

It is a fun-packed, academically focused six-week summer program, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday - Thursday, starting June 8, 2026, and runs until Thursday, July 16 at 2:00 pm.

The goal of our summer program is to provide challenging and engaging learning experiences for our students, so they are prepared to return to school in the fall at a level of academic preparedness that is comparable to their peers.
